Fault Description: The ECU has detected an irregular signal from the engine oil pressure sensor. This may indicate a sensor failure or an actual drop in oil pressure, which can lead to engine damage if ignored.

Possible Causes:

  • Low engine oil level
  • Faulty oil pressure sensor or damaged wiring harness
  • Clogged oil filter or oil strainer
  • Failing oil pump

Troubleshooting & Solution:

  1. Check the engine oil level using the dipstick. Add oil if it is below the minimum mark.
  2. Inspect the wiring harness connected to the oil pressure sensor for breaks, corrosion, or loose connections.
  3. Test the sensor using a multimeter. If the resistance readings are out of range, replace the sensor.
  4. Replace the oil filter if it hasn’t been changed during the regular maintenance schedule.
  5. Clear the fault code with a diagnostic scanner and run the engine to verify the fix.
